Reserve Pay Overview

Members of the Selected Reserve devote one weekend each month, extended training periods and serve the war effort by augmenting the active-duty U.S. military. In return reserve members receive regular drill pay and other benefits.

If you are serving as a member of the Selected Reserve, you are eligible for regular drill pay, and might qualify for some special pays. Each "Drill Weekend" counts as 4 Drill Periods for pay purposes. Check out the Drill Pay Charts to see how much you could earn each month.

If you are activated (placed on active duty) your pay will change from "drill pay" to the same monthly pay structure as your active duty counterparts. Check out the Active Duty Pay Calculator to see how much you would earn each month while on active duty. In addition, you may also qualify for special pay, health care and education benefits - including the GI Bill.
